H-1B Fiscal Year (FY) 2016 Cap

Update¹ – USCIS has reached the mandated cap for H-1B applications for Fiscal Year (FY) 2016. The cap had been set to 65,000 applicants for “specialty occupations that require the theoretical or practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge, including but not limited to: scientists, engineers, or computer programmers.“, with an extra 20,000 slots for advanced degrees.
